Campus Improvements & Master Site Plan

In 1999, a Site Development Committee was created to evaluate the long-term facilities needs of our campus.  From 2002-05, the first capital appeal was conducted.  This appeal saw blessings of $2 million earmarked to MLHS (plus another $3.7 million which was pledged to local congregations), resulting in a new student commons, moving classrooms out of the basement, a new roof & boiler, tuition assistance, and elimination of past debt.

In 2005, an anonymous lead gift of $1 million was pledged, to be earmarked for the construction of the "Music Center" portion of our master site plan.  The Music Center construction and remodeling project, completed and dedicated in November 2008, allowed us to move art classrooms out of the basement.

As we strive to "Benefit as many students, as dramatically as possible, as quickly as possible,"  a comprehensive approach encompassing CONSTRUCTION, REMODELING AND RENOVATION of our campus has been embraced.
